The Friends of Mount Evans & Lost Creek Wilderness (FOMELC) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Founded in November 2005, FOMELC provides cooperative stewardship support to the United States Forest Service. We offer volunteer opportunities for all ages, physical abilities, interests and schedules. You can also help by becoming a member and contributing. Volunteer hours, mileage, donations, contributions and membership dues are tax deductible.

Our Mission

The Mount Evans and Lost Creek Wildernesses encompass 194,400 acres with over 170 miles of trails in Colorado’s Pike and Arapaho National Forests. We work in partnership with the US Forest Service, engaging in education, outreach and stewardship activities to preserve the wilderness character of these lands for current and future generations.
