When Friends of Mount Evans & Lost Creek Wildernesses (FOME & LC) was founded in 2005, we believed, as David Henry Thoreau believed, that "in Wildness is the preservation of the world". Our group of caring and dedicated individuals assists the USDA Forest Service "preserve the wild in the Mount Evans & Lost Creek Wildernesses for future generations." Nearly 100 people have volunteered over 8,500 hours of time, hiking or riding 2,500 miles of trail. We are proud of these accomplishments, but have so much more to do.
