Weeds in wilderness

The spread of invasive weeds is a real threat to Wilderness. Weeds impact critical wildlife habitat and are deadly to native plants and flowers. Stopping them at the door is more effective than having to control them after they arrive. Noxious weeds are spread in many ways including the wind, waterways, birds and wildlife. Notorious hitchhikers, weed seeds can be transported by our vehicles, pets clothing, socks, pant legs, packs and feet. Once established, they lack natural preditors and spread very quickly.
